Pleasure Island

Curator’s note

Evangelina has just welcomed a new stepdad when his brother Chad arrives, who is rather better looking. Episode 1 is a villa introduction with a gunshot, a nickname that should have stayed unsaid and a yacht invitation for later. Episode 2 is the departure: sunshine, a bikini party that is called casual, and a step-niece line that Chad finds funny, at least until the dancing starts. The mood is carefree, the dress code skimpy and the family politics tangled. Five episodes, the first two free.

Inside the frame

A holiday villa, a yacht full of dancers and an uncle by marriage with an easy smile. The taboo is the relation, the setting is a party, and the free part stays on flirtation and a bedroom suggestion.

Best seen: For golden-hour viewing with a cold drink and an appetite for glamorous bad ideas.
