The Red Room is exactly what it sounds like: the twenty posters with the most strong red in them. We did not choose them by taste. A program measured the share of strong red in every poster, ranked the collection, and hung the top twenty here, so you get 20 series in a deep, warm glow.

How the room was made

The method is plain. For each poster the program counted how much of the frame is strong red, from lipstick to velvet to a hotel hallway. We ranked every poster by that share and took the twenty at the top. The cut is a hard one, twenty and no more, so a poster just under the line waits in the other rooms.

Color is the only rule, so the stories are a grab bag. Mia Malkova, a stripper's past, a nurse, a bachelorette party, Christmas and an Euro trip all appear, linked by red. It is the gallery's most dramatic wall, the one where the lighting designer clearly had a favorite crayon.

Posters here may also be hung in a theme room, or in Noir, Golden Hour or Daylight. Every artwork page prints a palette of five colors with codes, so you can judge how much red you really get.

How to visit it

Stand back first. The room works best at a distance, where the reds start to talk to each other. Then step closer and choose a title by frame.

For episodes, the rule is the same across Candy: Candy shows the opener to anyone and the follow-up to free profiles. In this room that comes to 38 free episodes, roughly 145 minutes of viewing. How were the Red Room posters chosen?

By measurement. We calculated the share of strong red in every poster, ranked them, and took the top twenty. The room holds 20 series because that is the cut, not because anyone liked them most.

Is the Red Room the same as the Blue Room but redder?

It is built the same way, with a different color. The Blue Room ranks posters by blue and violet and also keeps twenty. A series can hang in both if its poster carries both colors.
