Curator’s note

Home from college each Sunday for family dinner in the suburbs, Danny sits across from Delilah, his stepsister. Tonight a storm makes everyone stay over, which is bad news for Danny's peace of mind. Delilah teases him through grace, drags him into the laundry room and tells him she has been thinking about him. Episode 1 ends with a dare across the hallway. Episode 2 is a hushed game of questions in the dark, with parents sleeping nearby and a stepsister for whom rules are optional. Sinful, in the most polite way.

Inside the frame

A humming dryer, parents down the corridor and a bedroom door nobody has locked. Whispers and dares fill the free episodes, with the stepsister firmly in charge of the rules.

Best seen: A pick for those who love sibling banter that turns sly, with a creaking staircase and a very quiet getaway.

Plate IEpisode 1

Plate I. A storm keeps two households under one roof. At dinner, a stepsister watches her stepbrother watch her. When parents assign them laundry duty, she says aloud everything the dryer is covering. He objects, mostly out of habit. Their mother calls from the next room, and a whispered plan for later, across the hall, wraps the plate.

Plate IIEpisode 2

Plate II. Long after lights out, the stepsister sets a game: one question each, answered honestly. She opens by asking where his eyes went while the family prayed. His answer is simple and candid, and she rewards it. A parent interrupts at the worst time, then the final dare is spoken out loud, with the answer promised afterward.
