My Stepsister Plays Hard To Get

Curator’s note

Kayla is at a turtle rally with a loud voice and a firm opinion: her stepbrother Cole is a creep and definitely not her type. Cole, minding the house while their parents travel, turns up with a car horn, a bottle of water and a suspiciously sweet smile. Episode 1 is a long comedy of glances, denials and one extremely well-timed bird, and Kayla spends the ride home insisting to her friend Tess that none of it counted. She also admits it was kind of cute. The neighbor arrives later in the series and wants a turn. Five episodes, with the first two free.

Inside the frame

Family life on a hot weekend while the parents are away: a car, a kitchen and a rally. The rule being bent is the one she wrote herself, and the free episodes remain on flirtation and denial.

Best seen: For the visitor who loves a protest sign and a heroine who is wrong in a very entertaining way.
