Taking Care of My Stepmom

Curator’s note

Dad is away for two weeks and has left his son in charge of a stepmother who cannot dress, undress or reach the bed on her own. She says thank you in a voice that lasts a beat too long. Episode 1 is a day of errands, a zip and a phone call from Dad praising his boy for being so kind. In episode 2, evening arrives, the bra stays unreachable, and she asks him to lie beside her, on Dad's side, in a tone that is not really a question.

Inside the frame

A bedroom with one patient, one helper and a husband checking in by phone. The line being bent is the household order, the power play is gentle dependence. No account is needed for the opener, a free one unlocks the second, and every touch stays a hint.

Best seen: Ideal after a long day, when you want slow, caring chemistry with a faint smile of guilt.
