Bachelor Party with My Fiancée's Mother

Curator’s note

Two days before the wedding, the fiancée vetoes any bachelor party and leaves for the evening. Her mother, a retired dancer with stories to tell, takes pity on the groom and invites him to the pool. A quick request for help with her back leads to a confession about her old career and a bold theory that a groom is owed a farewell. Episode 2 raises the curtain. A dress that was saved for the occasion, a rule that he can look but never touch, and an invitation to the shower that reminds him how thin the rule is. He wonders aloud what he is doing, and answers himself.

Inside the frame

A sunny villa, a fiancée away for the day and a mother-in-law who writes the program. Looking is allowed, touching is negotiated. The free episodes keep to teasing, towels and steam.

Best seen: Aimed at the viewer who thinks a groom's last night should be negotiated by someone with excellent stage presence.
