My Stepdaughter’s Boyfriend

Curator’s note

Ethan is meeting his girlfriend's family for a full week at her father's house. Richard, the host, is easygoing and keen on having fun. His partner Holly is the unexpected part: she catches Ethan looking, treats the stare as flattery and asks him a question that no guest should answer honestly. Episode 2 turns the retreat into a test of manners: the father steers the girlfriend away for an errand, hands Ethan one rule (never let his girlfriend find out) and leaves Holly asking for a glass of water. A spilled drink follows. Keep calm, Ethan.

Inside the frame

A holiday house where everyone is relaxed except the guest. The forbidden line is the girlfriend's family, the power play belongs to Holly, and the free episodes keep to teasing, a spill and a lot of nervous apologies.

Best seen: For anyone who likes a meet-the-parents comedy with a wicked second act and a boyfriend who is sweating politely.
