Boys Not Allowed

Curator’s note

Ava hosts a girls' night, banishing her boyfriend with a wave and a rule. Her best friend Camila happens to be his stepsister as well, which has been a tricky situation for two years and has now become a cinematic one. In episode 1 Ava dozes off before the movie is half over, and Camila walks into the kitchen with a grin and a new ruling: the boyfriend is now allowed. Episode 2 plays with the risk of the sleeper on the sofa, a loyalty test and a very tempting word, stepsiblings. Quiet, everyone. Guilt is asleep, but not forever.

Inside the frame

One apartment, one sofa with a sleeping girlfriend and one kitchen where the rules change. The forbidden line is a sleeping partner, the power play is the stepsister's, and the free part stays teasing and clothed.

Best seen: For anyone who laughs at the thought of getting caught, and likes a comedy of manners with an alarm clock ticking.
