My First Night Shift

Curator’s note

Hired as night manager at an elegant, old hotel, the narrator finds out that room service comes with the badge and that no other man is on the staff. Episode 1 starts with a colleague named Sloane who is called upstairs, a special for a certain room upstairs and a dessert plate that proves to be him. Episode 2 shows a guest settling in, an offer to come closer and a manager who cannot quite believe his luck. Each door is a new encounter, each corridor a new problem. Two parts are free.

Inside the frame

A grand hotel after dark, a lone employee and a line of guests who all want something that isn't on the menu. The forbidden line is the job description, and the free part stays on doorways and invitations.

Best seen: For night owls who like corridors, lamplight and one more knock at the door.
