Room Service

Curator’s note

The anniversary trip is a tradition, and so is the wife's twenty-minute shower. Episode 1 opens with room service at the door, a husband who is cordial and a maid who has been delivering the same fruit order for days. He does not like fruit. She knows. A whispered exchange behind the cart, a question from the bathroom and a glance at the clock complete the setup. In episode 2 the shower becomes a countdown: the wife requests her conditioner, the maid obliges with a perfectly neutral face and the clock keeps ticking. Five episodes, the first two free. Housekeeping has never been so punctual.

Inside the frame

A hotel suite, a running shower and a timer that decides the plot. The line is a marriage down the hall, the power play belongs to the person with the cart, and the free episodes stay with near misses.

Best seen: For anyone who likes a plot that runs on a stopwatch and a heart that skips at a knock on the door.
