Our Exchange Student

Curator’s note

His girlfriend wants to host Mica for a semester, so Mica arrives with a suitcase and a stack of curious questions. First comes what friends with benefits means. Then comes a request for a demonstration, since she learns better by watching. Episode 1 leaves the boyfriend at the kitchen table, doing mental arithmetic about how long his girlfriend will be out. Episode 2 raises the vocabulary: what does it mean to cross a line, and where, exactly, is it? She asks him to point it out. The curator admires her study habits and fears for his. Somewhere a dictionary is blushing, and the clock is in on it.

Inside the frame

A shared apartment, a girlfriend always about to come home, and a houseguest treating every word as a dare. The forbidden line is literally the topic. Both free episodes keep it at teasing, timers and a nearly open door.

Best seen: Ideal for a lazy evening and anyone who thinks the best lessons are the unofficial ones.
