Packing Up My Best Friend's Mom

Curator’s note

Rory's mother has just divorced, and her house sells on Friday. Rory is flying home, so he asks his best friend to help her pack and keep her company. Episode 1 is a game of keep or toss, with a mother who has been overlooked for twenty years and is done with it. A real estate agent keeps interrupting, and Rory calls just in time to be reassured. Episode 2 returns to her bedroom, where a neighbor named Tamsin sees what is happening and wants a turn. Two parts are free.

Inside the frame

A family home mid-move, a mother with a list of new memories and a son's friend with strong arms. The line is friendship, and the free part stays on lingering looks and interrupted moments.

Best seen: Good for a daytime watch when you'd like warmth, a few laughs and a woman taking back her house.
