Ethan is human, a captive, and tonight he belongs to Queen Veyra. Episode 1 sets the rules of her bedchamber: he must say her name, he must obey, and he must not break, because the last three lovers vanished from the court. Episode 2 shifts the game in public. In front of the nobles she calls him a peasant and threatens to burn his house, but behind closed doors she admits that he is hers in both places and the difference is only whether she lets him feel it. Five episodes: the opener is open to everyone and the second asks for a free login. The crown is heavy, and so is the silence between the lines.

Plate I. In a fantasy palace, a human is chosen as the queen's lover for the night. The queen, named Veyra, demands to be addressed properly, and he complies. She warns him that those before him vanished, and that humans break easily. The plate captures her command, his obedience and the uneasy thrill between them.

Plate IIEpisode 2

Plate II. By daylight the queen pretends not to know her visitor, and her court is allowed to insult him. In private she explains the contradiction: he belongs to her in company too, but only here does she let him feel it. The plate repeats her warning about the three predecessors, and he is told not to give way.
