Every Wife on Candy Lane

Curator’s note

Candy Lane has a simple signal: a raised flag means a house wants a visit. In episode 1 the flag goes up at Harriet's house, where the kitchen pipe is leaking again and the plumber is her brother-in-law. A flashlight, a wrench and a surprisingly wet floor later, the repair has become something else entirely. Episode 2 widens the circle: Holly and two other neighbors have been waiting their turn, and the plumber discovers that the whole street has opinions about the schedule. The husbands, naturally, know nothing. Five episodes, the first two free, with the later ones paid in tokens. Every wife is a different appointment.

Inside the frame

A suburban street, a flag signal and a repairman with a full calendar. The rule being bent is the neighborhood's own; the free episodes stay with innuendo and plumbing humor, nothing explicit.

Best seen: Perfect for the visitor who loves a suburban comedy where the repairs take longer than quoted and the invoice is a secret.
