I Dated My Best Friend Mom

Curator’s note

Jake swipes right on a profile as a joke, then finds out she is his best friend Tyler's mother. Josie answers before he can retract anything. In episode 1 Tyler invites Jake to stay over, Josie warmly offers to prepare the room, and the man of the hour spends the evening silently begging nobody to notice. By the time the house goes quiet, she has made it known that she knows exactly who swiped what. Episode 2 slips into the hallway and the bathroom door, with Tyler close enough to hear a floorboard. The curator calls this a study in bad decisions, framed in a very ordinary suburban hallway.

Inside the frame

A family home at night, a best friend one room over, and a hostess who is in on the joke. The forbidden line is loyalty. The free part stays flirtatious.

Best seen: A cautionary tale for anyone who has ever sent the wrong screenshot to the wrong person.
