My Best Friend's Mom Has One Rule

Curator’s note

Jake promises to look in on the place while Tyler travels, and runs into Tyler's mom in a wet towel instead. She is Margot, sharp and amused, and her single rule is simple: stay out of her room. Episode 1 is the introduction, the rule and Jake's mental commentary, which is not at all appropriate. In episode 2, he disobeys, she catches him, and it turns out the rule was about her room, not his, so she invites him into one she has no plans to guard.

Inside the frame

A house-sitting job, one rule and a bedroom door begging to be tested. The line is a best friend's mother, the power play is the rule itself. A first look costs nothing and needs no account; the next one asks for a free sign-up.

Best seen: Choose it when you need a stern hostess, a nervous guest and a house that rewards disobedience.
