Riley First, Regina Next

Curator’s note

Riley brings her boyfriend Jack home to meet Regina, the stepmother who has been away from her life for ages. Regina greets him with a long look and a compliment about his strength. Episode 1 is an affectionate reunion, a talkative college student and a stepmother quietly rearranging her interest. Episode 2 turns a spilled drink into a pretext, with Jack called to help while Riley is elsewhere and Regina is delighted to take over. Two episodes are free, then tokens follow the entanglement, one awkward dinner at a time.

Inside the frame

Family brunch turned into a contest between a doting stepdaughter and a stepmother who is playing the long game. The free minutes pair bright smiles with calculated touches and a drink that hits the floor.

Best seen: Aimed at anyone who likes tension at the family table and a stepmom who is happy to wait her turn.
