The Open House

Curator’s note

Ben and Emily fall for the house on first sight, and Emily heads off to size up the kitchen while the realtor takes Ben upstairs. Tall windows, sunshine everywhere, and a lock on the door, she says, adding that the master room is shown only to husbands. In episode 2 Ben still cannot quite believe it, while Emily asks why the bedroom door is shut. The agent just checks the lock, and the bed will need measuring too. His wife is within earshot, and the deal is closing faster than the paperwork. Sold, probably, to the highest tension.

Inside the frame

An open house with one very private room. The line is a wedding ring and a wife a few doors away, and the free episodes are mostly lock jokes and measuring tape.
