The Prince's Last Week Unwed

Curator’s note

Lady Antonella reaches the castle the day before the prince weds Princess Maren, and she makes sure he sees her first. After the tournament, where custom asks the champion to present his tournament ribbon to the bride, she tells him she has not forgotten their old night and will seek him out at the banquet. In episode 2 she promises to be his tomorrow, Maren sits at the feast, untroubled, and she says it is the man she wants, whatever the title. Behind a curtain, as the cups are lifted, a gown has plans of its own.

Inside the frame

A court with rituals, a bride seated nearby and a rival who ignores protocol. The free episodes stay inside the feast hall, with glances, toasts and one very strategic curtain.

Best seen: For the romantic who enjoys royal scandal, lace and good timing, preferably by candlelight.
