Curator’s note

The sunken court has a reputation for one-way visits, and the thief who comes for a stone learns why the moment he looks up. The princess catches him, demands his reason and, instead of ending him, claims him. The first part is a kneeling confrontation with a question about what he really came for. The second brings a complication in the form of a betrothed who requests her presence, and a warning that discovery means death for both. High fantasy, velvet voice, plenty of tension, and two parts free.

Inside the frame

A hidden garden, a royal engagement and a captive who may not mind. The forbidden bond threatens a crown, and the free part leans on commands, whispers and close calls.

Best seen: Reserve it for an evening when you'd like swords and sorcery to take second place to a good stare.
