Stepsister Summer

Curator’s note

Brooklyn arrives for a stay with the stepbrother she has never met, and her household has opinions about how the fortnight should unfold. Her father is out of town, her stepmother is calm in a way that suggests planning, and a friend of Brooklyn's is happy to join the scheme. Episode 1 is introductions with a knowing smile and a remark about the heat. Episode 2 moves upstairs: a request for help, a whispered instruction to stay quiet, and the sense that the guest is the one being studied. Five episodes, two of them free (the first needs no account).

Inside the frame

A summer house with the parent away, three women who share a secret and one visitor who is the last to learn the rules. Power sits with the hosts, and the free part keeps it to whispers and closed doors.

Best seen: Suited to a lazy afternoon when you'd like the heat in the story rather than the weather.
